Our Typography

Consistent use of typography makes an impression on the viewer, consciously or not. Specifying typefaces for Texas A&M helps reinforce a clear, consistent identity for the university. Two type families were carefully selected for communications materials: ITC New Baskerville and Frutiger. ITC New Baskerville is a traditional serif typeface. Frutiger is a sans serif typeface with a clean, modern look. These typefaces complement each other and work well with our Primary Mark.

A third typeface, Aachen, is offered to create emphasis. This typeface is appropriately used when you have a bold statement to make, or your message is appealing to a younger audience. Because Aachen can dominate a layout, we recommend you use it sparingly.

The fourth, Sloop, is a script typeface which is to be used only in certain instances.
