Website Requirements

Texas A&M is a public university, and our content must be accessible to visitors using assistive technologies. The university strives be in compliance with Section 508 standards for web-based intranet and internet information and applications.

University websites must adhere to the following web coding best practices:

  • Use good semantic HTML to structure web pages
  • Consistently use alt text for images
  • Caption all videos
  • Do not use images or colors as sole conveyors of information
  • Use tables for data presentation only

Website Branding Requirements

The following are baseline requirements for branding service or event websites for colleges, departments and conferences.

College website

  • Texas A&M logo must be used
  • Brand colors must be used
  • Brand fonts or web equivalents must be used
  • The Texas A&M logo should link back to www.tamu.edu
  • Required footer links must be used

Department website

  • Texas A&M logo must be used
  • Brand colors must be used
  • Brand fonts or web equivalents must be used
  • The Texas A&M logo should link back to www.tamu.edu

Conference, service and event websites

  • Texas A&M University must be referenced
